Why massage helps?

This is my cocker spaniel who is approaching ten years old. He had an injury from agility but is now fit and well with only the minimum amount of pain killers. There is also my spinone who had no muscle definition at all. Now with the help of a water walker and massage she is as fast as a lurcher and healthy as anything with out the need of operations.xw
